Poster Presentation Guidelines

  • The orientation of the poster must be in Portrait and poster size should not exceed 23” (width) x 36” (height).
  • Each presenter will be provided with an approximately 26” (width) x 37” (height) poster board to display poster.
  • Poster presenters must put up their posters on 31 May 2010, 2.00 pm -5.00 pm at The Grand Hall of the Empire Hotel and Country Club. The Liaison Personnel, Mr Mohd Sofian Bin Hj Daud will be stationed at the hall to provide assistance.
  • Poster presenters are encouraged to self-provide Velcro for the installation. Adhesive tape would be provided if necessary.
  • Poster presenters are required to stand-by their posters during the poster sessions. Schedules of the poster sessions and take-down would be notified at the event.

Abstract Submission

The Asian Forensic Sciences Network 2010 Annual Meeting & Symposium invites the submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentation during the Scientific Sessions.

The disciplines included in the Scientific Sessions are:

  1. DNA
  2. Illicit Drugs
  3. Toxicology
  4. Trace Evidence
  5. Quality Assurance & Standards

Abstract Submission Deadline

Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts: 26 April 2010 (Closed!)
Authors Notified of Acceptance: 3 May 2010

General Guidelines on Submission of Abstracts

  • All abstracts will be reviewed by the respective workgroup/committee Chairpersons.
  • The workgroup/committee Chairpersons reserve the right to accept or reject abstracts for inclusion in the program and to change your submission preference from oral to poster and visa versa.
  • Abstracts will be grouped by disciplines. Please indicate the discipline most suitable to your abstract. Please note this does not guarantee that your abstract will be grouped within this discipline in the final program.
  • All abstracts must be prepared according to the guidelines provided. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will be returned to the author and must be resubmitted correctly by the deadline to be considered for presentation.
  • Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection by 3 May 2010.

Abstract Format Guidelines

The aim of the abstract is to outline the contents of the intended presentation to an audience. It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that the submitted abstract is accurate in terms of content, spelling and presentation. All accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted.

Abstract Format:
  • Abstract must be written in English;
  • Abstracts must be submitted using the Microsoft Word template provided in this website;
  • Indicate the discipline most relevant to your presentation:
    1. DNA
    2. Illicit Drugs
    3. Toxicology
    4. Trace Evidence
    5. Quality Assurance & Standards
  • The author must indicate the presentation preference: oral presentation or poster presentation. The workgroup/committee Chairman reserves the right to alter the mode of presentation.
  • Abstract format:
    • Papersize: A4
    • All margins: 2.54 cm
    • Font type: Times New Roman
    • Title (12 point, bold, upper case, left alignment)
    • List of authors (12 point, left alignment)
    • Institutional affiliation(s) (10 point, left alignment, italics)
    • Email of presenting author (10 point, left alignment)
    • Main text (maximum of 250 words, 10 point, both sides justified)
    • Keywords (maximum of 3 keywords, 10 point, left alignment)
